September equals cooler weather!!

So, since Jarrod isn't into updating this blog, I guess that I will take over!!!

So, we've been in Mobile since June. It seems like we've been through alot. Our bathroom flooded in July and we had to rip down a wall. What we found on the inside of that wall was disgusting -- it was a combination of dead rat bodies, mold and filth. It was really gross and of course -- I flipped out.

The a/c was broken most of the summer so that was special. We finally got the a/c fixed last week. Sunday afternoon -- we heard a HUGE explosion. We thought a transformer had blown. Apparently, a squirrel or something got on the line and knocked out the electricity. We went on to church thinking that it would be a hot night trying to sleep without the a/c. Upon our return, the a/c and the electricity worked!!! What a blessing!!!

I started back to seminary at Southwestern via the internet in August. There's alot of reading and alot of writing to be done. It's a challenge to find a quiet place where I can bury in. :) But - I'm moving closer and closer to finishing. It'll be great to finally be finished.

We are living and working at the International Ministries Center. Which has its challenges and frustrations. The stovetop and ice maker don't work here. We are missing our house in Southaven, MS but at the same time wishing it would sell so we can get out from under the mortgage payment. I have sent an email out to my prayer warriors to pray very diligently that this house will sell this month. What a blessing it would be!!!

Jarrod is working with the seafarers and is also the maintenance man. And since everything is broken -- it keeps him very busy. We also get to work 15 hours extra per week at the Association office doing maintenance and upkeep. So - that is a little extra money coming in.

I am the director of the Language School. Constantly trying to recruit new volunteers and new students and trying to think up ways to get the churches more involved. We have several churches where the ESL is held and the churches seem oblivious that ESL is being held in THEIR OWN BUILDING!!! So - we are just trying to change the way that people see things and trying to get the word out. It's a challenge.

Together, Jarrod and I also are trying to get the word out about what the International Ministries Center does and trying to think up new ways to make it fun and relevant.

We are currently working to promote the Walk for Bibles and International Ministries that is happening on October 18. We've designed t-shirts and have made a video to try and get the word out and get people involved. I've been doing alot of fund raising to try and get others involved.

Adelaide and Mick have a small yard to play in. We try and get them out as much as we can and run some of that energy out of them. There are alot of people who come through here and everyone likes to pat them. They really love that part.

Yesterday, we got a Sugar Glider from someone who works at the Association. He's so cute and we are both getting to know each other right now.

Pray for us. That God would give us the strength to Press On despite difficulties and despite the devil throwing annoyances at us.

Pray that our house will sell and pray that we can be a useful part of the work that is being done here.

Thank you for your prayers!!!!
