Christmas Time!

We are currently in Olive Branch, Mississippi enjoying some time with my parents. A very much needed rest and re-fueling!!! It is such a blessing to be in a house surrounded by familiar faces and not hear any little monsters running around at night. We had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed seeing the holiday lights in the neighborhood. We got a Wii Fit from my parents -- so, we are both sore from playing! Ha!

Jarrod had a CT Scan before we left Mobile and the results did not seem to show anything abnormal. They have ruled out Celiac's Disease which affects how your body processes gluten. Jarrod has another doctor appointment on January 7th and we are hoping that Dr. Siegal has more information on what is next. The 2 medications that they put Jarrod on are not working and actually make him feel worse.

A possible prayer of praise is stirring right this moment. There is a couple who is interested in buying our house!! We are holding our breath and praying that His Will will be done and if it is God's Will -- that our house will be sold. We have been told that the people want to move in as of January 1st -- which is like ... this week. It would be great if we could sign the papers while we are here in town!!! Pray for God to show us the right direction to go!!

On Christmas Day, we lost an old friend named Hugh Reed. He was 92 when he died. I can remember him being the librarian growing up at Brunswick Baptist Church. He was a kind man who loved Jesus more than anything. He had been married for about 66 years. What a blessing his life was! We went to his funeral on Sunday and saw so many people that we haven't seen in years. We were so blessed that day and got so much encouragement from good friends.

We will be driving back to Mobile on January 5th. We are not sure where we will be staying because the mold and the rodent infestation has not been corrected. The pest control company had put down traps before we left but we feel that it will be an ongoing process to rid the Center of its unwanted visitors!! The Association is still working to find us appropriate housing - there is a church that has offered that we might be able to stay in one of their houses for perhaps a year. We are praying that God will open a door for us.

Please pray!!!

  • Pray for God to continue to blaze a path for us and that He will cover us with His Hand of protection.
  • Pray for Jarrod's medical issues and that God would heal him completely.
  • Pray for Jarrod's sister (Rachael) who is pregnant!
  • Pray for our housing issues and that we could find a safe place to live.
  • Pray for Jessica's uncle (Alan) who broke his foot over the holidays!
