NAMB Commissioning

We have just returned from our North American Mission Board Commissioning in Savannah, Georgia. We had a great time. We left Mobile on Thursday, February 19th. Another US/C-2'er rode with us. It took about 7 1/2 hours to get there.

Savannah was just beautiful. I'll have to upload some pictures. The hotel was nice -- it was really quiet which is a dramatic change from our living conditions since we live next to a MAJOR interstate and animals run around in our ceiling all night long.

It was a definite time of renewal. A time where we could kick back a little and listen. There were 144 missionaries there. Each of them had a story of what God was doing in their lives and through their ministry. It was really cool to network and meet new friends.

Friday, we got to visit a pregnancy women's shelter called the Living Vine. It was neat to see how God was using this shelter to help teenage girls who were pregnant and definitely had "baggage". Saturday, we went to another organization that served as a clothes closet, food pantry and a job finding place. We helped with a block party to try to reach the community for Jesus. Sunday, the commissioning was held at FBC Rincon. It was good to see so many who pledged their lives to Jesus through missionary service.

Everything was great. It was a great time of renewal and a good time to see the folks at NAMB and even meet the NAMB president Geoff Hammond. I was also glad that my parents got to come.

We are leaving for Memphis tomorrow to go and file some paperwork for our house. It looks like God has worked everything out for these people to move in on March 1st. Pray that God will protect us while we have to rent it out for 2 years. It's a bit of a gamble. But - God is in control!!

I am amazed how God works out the little details in our lives. He blazes the path and all we have to do is seek him for the "driving directions". :)

May God continue to bless each of us as we chase after him.

Pray:
  • For Jarrod's health - he is feeling some relief from his medical issues but not complete relief. Pray for the doctors' wisdom and for God to heal him completely.
  • Pray for my grandfather as he continues to fight the cancer in his bladder.
  • Pray for God to protect our health as we live in unsanitary conditions -- which are hopefully going to be fixed soon!
  • Continue to pray for the salvations among Internationals in Mobile!!!

THANK YOU!
