February 16

The Disciple Now was really cool -- they call it META. We saw around 7 or 8 receive Jesus as their personal Savior during the weekend. I had a great bunch of girls. It was a joy to hear their struggles and see God working in a few of them. I am praying that they will continue to grow in their relationship with Jesus and never let the pressures of life separate them from their relationship with Jesus.

At the D-Now -- this guy that we don't really know came up to Jarrod and said that he felt God wanting him to tell us something and he had chickened out the few times before that we had seen him. He said that God wants us to stay here, that He's happy with the work we are doing and that He has more for us to do. It was quite an encouraging word that we longed to hear. Oftentimes, in the midst of all the distractions that are brought here -- we wonder if God is calling us elsewhere. But - to hear this from a mostly complete stranger was a breath of fresh air.

Thank you, Lord for encouraging us *right* when we need it! You are so faithful.

Valentines Day went ok. Jarrod got me a wireless mouse - I've been eyeing one for a little bit and we had Chinese for lunch! The Brazilians were having a Valentines thingy at the Center -- so, there wasn't alot of room to do anything romantic here. It's close quarters here but we are looking forward to the day where we can live not only in a more less toxic environment (in regards to rats and mold) but also in a more private place. Maybe it is a growing experience to try to live some semblance of a normal life here. I am often asking God what we are meant to be learning...

The contract on our house is in the midst of negotiations but these people seem to be serious about the house. We are continuing to pray and wait to see what God has in store!

They are injecting my grandfather with tuberculosis to try to fight the cancer in his bladder. Apparently, the white blood cells rush to fight the TB and they fight the cancer too. We are praying for him daily.

We have acquired a new member to our family. Roxie is a female boxer that belonged to a local pastor. She has some behavioral problems that our dogs (and us) are helping her overcome. Before the pastor had her - we believed that she came from an abusive situation. Pray that we will be able to use her in ministry as we are using Adelaide and Mick. We'll post pictures soon - she is beautiful.

Pray:
  • We leave for Savannah, GA on Feb 19 and will return on Feb 23rd for our commissioning. Pray for safe travel and that we can be renewed and refreshed.
  • Pray for my grandfather's healing.
  • Continue to pray for God's Will to be done with our house.
  • Continue to pray for Jarrod's health issues.
  • Pray for Jarrod's TWO sisters who are pregnant!
