Moving to Orange Beach

Tommorow morning, we will move to Orange Beach, Alabama. We are definitely not fans of moving but it seems like in the past few years -- it is something that we've done several times! Moving to Australia was crazy enough, moving from Australia felt a little more normal. Moving out of a house in Southaven that we had just bought 2 years before seemed pretty wild too. Moving to Mobile, Alabama wasn't that far of a stretch because I (Jessica) spent a summer here working with M-Fuge in 1999. So - this move does not seem like that big of a deal either. I guess the more you more - the less traumatizing it becomes!

On a good note -- Adelaide and Mick will have more room to run around and they will have more grass to play on. They've been living in a pretty small area littered with glass pieces surrounded by loud air conditioners!! We will be re-installing their invisible fence for the 4th time in 5 years! HAHA! I will say -- that the invisible fence is our friend and has kept our mischievious 'little' (they are 55 pounds each!) dogs right where they need to be!!!

But, God has seen us through it all and met our ever need again and again. Without fail, He has caught us when we have fallen, wiped our tears and strengthened us. We will be in Orange Beach for about a year before we start on another journey. We are praying about becoming career missionaries with the North American Mission Board (NAMB). Pray with us - that God would give us clarity and direction. We can start talking to NAMB this Fall about possible opportunities - so, this is exciting.

Alot of you have been asking what we will be doing in Orange Beach. We'll be there for about 1 year. This summer, we will be busy being house parents for some summer missionaries -- that should be entertaining! In addition to that, our goal is to find, reach out to and work with internationals that live in the Baldwin Baptist Association area. We will also be working closely with resort ministries - doing whatever we need to do to assist them. So, Jarrod might be leading a worship service on a Sunday in a campground or something like that.

Would you pray for us as we start this new endeavor? Pray first for the move tomorrow (Saturday - May 22). We praise the Lord for friends who are helping us move -- thank you, friends! Pray that God will equip us and continue to chisel away our lives to become more like Him. We thank the Lord for the smooth transition that He made for us and that He always looks after us -- sometimes, when we don't even realize it!!!

After we get moved in and everything - we will work to post some pictures of the new place and our new ministry! We are excited!

Thank you for being our prayer warriors and for loving on us!!!

We praise the Lord for our friends!!!
