Share Christ

For this blog, I am going to deviate from talking about our missions experiences. Instead, I am going to talk about all of the times that we don't share Christ with others and then, we never get the chance to share Jesus with them.

We have just gotten word that a friend of ours from Australia (David) has recently died in a motorcyle accident. Jarrod was his boss and we often carpooled with David to work. Jarrod has always called David his "protege". David was an exceedingly nice guy with a good attitude and a willingness to help others. He was one of these people who would do almost anything to help others and didn't mind staying after work to finish off a job or help someone finish off their project.

I shared Jesus with his Mom (that we also worked with) once and she was not receptive. She understood our love for Jesus but said that she did not share our beliefs. We never directly shared Jesus with David. Instead, we mentioned things in passing to him - things that we were going on at church or things here and there about our belief in God. But, we never directly shared the Gospel with David. We believe that when he died, he was not a believer. What a absolute tragedy.

How many times have you held back and not shared the Gospel with someone? Don't you realize that when they die -- they will spend an eternity in Hell. Hell is not a party like the world tries to glamorize it to be. Instead, the Bible describes it as a place of eternal torture. A place that cannot be escaped and a place that cannot be bargained out of.

Please pray for David's family that he leaves behind. Pray for his Mom (Donna) and her daughter (Karina). Please pray specifically that someone in Australia will share Jesus with them directly. That they will do what we could not or would not do.

May our hearts be heavy for the lost. May we lie awake at night praying not only for those that we know who are lost -- but also for the millions that we don't know.

Pray for churches to get serious about sharing Jesus with their communities, their cities, their states and beyond. In our churches, we need to wake up and stop being so lazy about sharing Jesus with others.
